What are dermal fillers?
Dermal Fillers are injectables that can be used to replace this lost volume in the deeper tissues of the face and to soften existing lines and wrinkles. How does dermal filler work?
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a synthetically produced but naturally occurring glycoprotein that is already present in our skin. Hyaluronic acid is an important structural molecule for the skin and it also binds water molecules to keep our skin well hydrated. It can be used to restore the deflated areas on our face. Hyaluronic acid is naturally broken down by the body so over time the filler is reabsorbed safely without lasting effects. They can also be removed sooner than the natural process by using a substance called hyaluronidase.
